Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple
Situated in the heart of Little India on Serangoon Road, Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is one of the oldest temples in Singapore. A temple built by Tamil workers in 1855 and dedicated to the goddess Kali - the Goddess of Strength. During World War II, when air raids took place, many people resided at the temple. The temple and the civilians lurking inside were calm and free from the violent bombardments.
In the 80's of the 20th century, the temple was renovated. One more unique gate tower with eight main domes and many other small domes, making the temple one of the most magnificent place in Singapore.
