Suggestion of 3-Day Itinerary to Penang

Day 1 :

The flight lands at Penang Airport at 4: 30 - Malaysia time. Bear in mind, Malaysia is 1 hour ahead of Vietnam, so you should adjust your watch to avoid confusion. On the way to Check out area, you can buy a SIM card at several sim stores. We recommend Tune Talk sim which offering 3G, 120 -  minute calls within Malaysia and 60 – minute call outside Malaysia. The price fluctuates from 15M to 40RM depending on 3G capacity.

Means of transport to the available hotel:

-By Bus : There are bus routes heading George Town (Number 401 and 401E), you might ask the guard keeper for more useful information. The point is that it takes you more than 60 minutes to get to New Geoge Town because the bus runs slowly. So, paying less but you have to travel so long.

- By Taxi: It cost you 40RM when travelling by Taxi. You will be available at the hotel in 30 or 40 minutes depending on the traffic situation.

- By Grab Car: You have to pay 25RM for travelling by Grab car. Like travelling by Taxi, you will get to the hotel from in 30 to 40 minutes depending on the traffic situation. The way of using Grab Car in Malaysia is similar to that in Vietnam. Particularly, registering this service by the SIM card you bought in the airport so that the driver can contact you. Most of Grab Drivers are is college students who can speak English fluently and enthusiastically give you a recommendation for foods and accommodation if you need.

After finishing check in process, you should take a short break in your room. Then, you should definitely walk to the nightmarket to savour famous local cuisine. Each dish is averagely priced at 5 to 15M. This market belongs to the locals residents, so I do not know exactly its name.

There are a variety of tasteful dishes that promise to tease your taste pubs, then stir up your appetite with a mouthful, namely Char Kuay Teow, Assam Laksa, Tar Sau Peah, Rojak Pasembur, Nasi Kandar and Hokkien Mee. Don’t miss them during your cuisine exploration in Malaysia.

After full your stomach and satisfy your mouth at the same time, you might saunter around nearby shopping centers then, take a Grab car to Chulia Street. Step onto this amazing street, you will feel as if you were on the familiar Bui Vien Street in Sai Gon.

Day 2

You might go round the town by motorbike and electric cars. There are a lot of shops on Chulia Street and right your hotel offers motorbike and bike hire. I prefer electric car priced at 50$/day at Penang Hotel.

There is one thing interesting in Penang that almost all locals travel by cars and drive on their left hand that is in contrast to Vietnam. Bear in mind, you must be careful when travelling by motorbike because there is no lane for this vehicle.

In the morning, you definitely immerse yourself in the charming scenery of Little India and Street Art in Ancient Quarter. Interestingly, there are many coffee shops and restaurants along the street that promise to tease your taste pubs. I recommend Jawi House Cafe & Gallery where I did set food in.

You might have lunch and relax at Jawi House Cafe & Gallery. I’m sure that its foods and drinks can stir up your appetite with a mouthful. In the afternoon, you make a visit to a series of famous tourist spots, namely Burmese Buddhist Temple, Wat Chaiyamangalaram (Thai Buddhist Temple) vĂ  Penang Hill.

Noticeably, Penang Hill afford tourists the panorama of the amazing Penang Town. The ticket is priced at 30 M/ person and a half lower of 15$/student, so don’t forget to bring student card with you to receive this preference.

In the evening, you come back the hotel, then  enjoy tasteful dishes on Chulia Street and have foot massage

Day 3 :

Going to the beach to take nice pictures. It features rows of shadow coconut trees, a series of 5 – star hotels and theme parks. Then, coming back to the hotel, doing check – out process and go to the airport.
